In 2018, Marx used “Right Here Waiting” to take a jab at President Donald Trump after he said in a press conference “I don’t see any reason why it would be” that Russia that interfered in the US election, then backtracked the following day explaining he misspoke’, and meant to say, “I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Russia”. Marx then mocked Trump by tweeting, “I misspoke. I meant to say I wouldn’t’ be right here waiting for you.” The tweet has since gotten over 250,000 likes 70,000 retweets.
